The Grammichele Social Club was established in 1977 for Melbourne based immigrants from Grammichele to be able to socialise on a regular basis.

The paesani of Grammichele had historically been able to socialise in and around Grammichele, just by walking out their front door and walking into the piazza or around the corner to a friend's home. This was not so easy to do in a large city like Melbourne, particularly when members of this community were spread around the inner and outer metro and even into the country fringe. This spanned localities such as Brunswick and Coburg, Glenhuntly and Elsternwick, Frankston and Somerville and even out to Werribee.
